Halloween Hens

Happy Halloween! Well, around here it seems that it's going to be a wet Halloween. But that's not going to stop anyone from having fun! Even the girls seem to have decided to put up with the weather and try to find 'fun' in this wet Halloween day.
Embroidery finds herself knee-deep in pretty fall leaves! But that's not stopping her!

Swallow, Quail and Blu take a peek through their fence (Swallow and Quail were moved into Blu's pen, and I am unhappy to announce Fay's death.)
But ends start beginnings. This is Henrietta, Buffy's new friend. The two were moved into the big pen with the older girls.

  1. Is fay the white puffy chick? And Emboridy is a lovely looking hen

  2. No. Fay was a black chicken with caramel coloured feathers on her neck. She also had two conjoined toes on each foot. Buffy is the fluffy white silkie. Embroidery is flattered that you say that. :)

P.S: How are your hens doing? Anything new?

    1. We have been getting eggs, mostly by Night, who is #1 in the pecking order. Jelly has been EXTREMELY annoying, and song has been jumping about a meter and squawking, which was really bugging the other girls.

ALSO a fun you could do on the blog is do a short (or long or medium speech about all your chickens, from Shoe Pecker to Sky, and Shaggy* to Bravewing.

*Did I get her name right?

  5. How's your frogs, fish, rat, 4 cats, dog, and goats? (You did tell me Bramabi [did I spell it right?] died...right?)

  6. Yes, they are all good. The goats have not gone yet. Banbury was missing and supposedly dead, yet a few nights ago we think we might have actually seen him bolt out from under the stair at dusk and disappear.
